I posted this before, but what if Ariadne was taking Cobb into the dream to help him get over Mal? Maybe in the reality Ariadne was the new girl Cobb met, but he can't be with the new girl until he gets over his wife's death. Maybe not, but just a thought. Maybe it's in the mind of Nolan or coming out of his unconscious. Ariadne and Mal seem to have some similarities, french brunettes, appreciate architecture.
